Our third raised bed was built over spring break. We had good luck at the Home Depot this time. Hardly anyone was there, so we were able to get the lumber and get out without standing in line.
This is the third raised bed that I have built for our vegetable garden. We plan to build a fourth at the end of the summer in time for the fall planting. We will have a fresh batch of compost ready and waiting by then.
This raised bed was made like before but I decided to make this one four feet wide instead of three feet wide. So I cut one 12 foot piece of lumber into three, four foot sections and used two of them for the end pieces.
Here are the four boards laid out for assembly.
The boards are now assembled ready for the soil, peat and compost.
The 4 inside stakes, 2 at each end, are screwed to the sides.
