Beginning of The End of Our Drought?

Due to a tropical front passing over the state of Florida this past week we had a tremendous downpour of rain where I live. You can see the brown water line of organic material where the water had been in the photo above.

These are some photos of a local neighborhood street intersection shortly after the rains subsided. If it wasn't for the excellent drainage properties of the soil, there would be some serious flooding problems here.

It rained very hard all night Wednesday night into Thursday am nonstop. Fortunately this particular area has what is called "sugar sand" as its basic soil. This area is located on sand dunes of an ancient shoreline. This amount you see above dissipated within 30 minutes.
